ADViRNA is a science-first CRO. We have developed therapeutic oligonucleotides for clients around the globe since 2007, from large biotech companies to small academic labs. We provide end-to-end support, from sequence design and synthesis to high-throughput screening, biodistribution, and in vivo validation. We were among the first to specialize in fully modified oligonucleotide chemistry, and we published the first sequence prediction algorithm built for it. Our team is made up entirely of scientists, with no salespeople or business development layer. The people at the bench are the ones who design the experiments, talk to clients, and build the internal methods that move the field along.
When you work here, you might build an assay one week and present the data to a client the next, on programs across metabolic, neurological, cardiovascular, ophthalmologic, and rare disease indications. We are a small team, all scientists, with a deep network of academic labs and field experts we lean on when a project calls for it.
Associate Scientist, Oligonucleotide Discovery

We are hiring an associate scientist to support our client programs, with secondary involvement in internal development work. The role is primarily hands-on bench work executing client studies, alongside assay development, data analysis, vendor coordination, and occasional client interaction. It suits someone who already works with minimal day-to-day direction and is looking for the project ownership and scientific scope that come with the next step. You will execute studies with a high degree of independence, work up and present your own data, and take on more of the design and interpretation over time. The role reports to our lead scientist.
Required
- BS with 4 or more years, MS with 1 or more years, or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, or a related field
- Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Hands-on proficiency in mammalian cell culture and transfection, including primary and difficult-to-transfect models
- Routine molecular biology including RNA and DNA isolation and qPCR, with the ability to run and interpret quantitative expression experiments
- Protein-level analysis by Western blot, ELISA, and other plate-based quantitative assays, including the associated data analysis
- Ability to execute experiments with appropriate controls and troubleshoot common failure modes without direct supervision
- Ability to keep several projects moving at once and adjust as client timelines shift
- Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting data to colleagues
Preferred
- Experience with oligonucleotide therapeutics, including siRNA or ASO, particularly chemically modified or conjugated constructs
- A track record of contributing to experimental design rather than only executing protocols
- Assay development or bioanalytical experience, including method optimization for new targets or sample matrices
- Additional readouts relevant to oligonucleotide pharmacology, such as flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing, or reporter-based assays
- Prior CRO or biotech experience in a multi-project environment
- Data analysis in R or Python
Compensation and Benefits
