Meet Alexey Wolfson, PhD, MBA

Alexey is a scientific founder with over 25 years of experience in RNA biology, oligonucleotide chemistry, and therapeutic development. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Russian Academy of Sciences and later completed an MBA at the University of Colorado. Alexey has held academic and industry roles across Europe and the U.S., including faculty appointments at Temple University and UMass Medical School. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and secured multiple NIH SBIR grants. As CEO and CSO of ADViRNA, he leads the development of proprietary siRNA design algorithms, oversees high-throughput screening and in vivo studies, and collaborates closely with clients to deliver tailored RNAi solutions. Before founding ADViRNA, Alexey co-founded MirImmune, an immuno-oncology startup later acquired by Phio Pharmaceuticals. His leadership bridges deep technical expertise with strategic insight in RNA therapeutics and biotech innovation.
