Location: Worcester, MA
Advirna has an open position for associate scientist with MS degree in biochemistry or molecular biology, at least 4 years of lab experience with knowledge of cell culture, cell transfection and gene expression analysis. We seek highly motivated candidate with experience in mammalian cell culture, gene expression analysis and cell-based assay development. The successful individual will play an integral role in a small team of scientists working on RNAi technology development. You will be expected to perform under minimal supervision and be capable of having a steep learning curve in a fast-paced startup environment.
Qualifications: PhD, MS, or BS in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology.
Mammalian cell culture and transfection techniques
Gene expression analysis
Cell-based assays and preferably hands-on experience with automation and scaling-up; ELISA is a plus
Ability to establish new assays and meticulously follow already established standard operating procedures
Ability to maintain, calibrate and operate various types of small lab equipment
Strong quantitative skills and excellent knowledge of Excel and data analysis
HPLC of biomolecules, Flow Cytometry and RNAi experience is a strong plus
Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential in our collaborative work environment
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description.
Previous industry experience is not required.
