Meet Nick Rice, PhD
Scientist, Research and Development
Nick earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UMass Chan Medical School, where his research focused on piRNA biogenesis, heat stress response, and chromatin regulation in Drosophila. He brings over a decade of diverse research experience across academic, governmental, and commercial labs, including Brandeis University, MGH, Tufts, and international roles in the UK and Sweden. At ADViRNA, Nick leads assay development and molecular biology efforts, including the creation of HYBRID-ON™, a novel platform for detecting fully modified siRNAs and ASOs. He brings deep expertise in RNA biology, qPCR, sequencing prep, and data analysis, along with a background in computational biology and assay validation. Outside the lab, Nick enjoys exploring molecular mechanisms and developing inventive solutions that bridge research and real-world application.
