Meet Sean McCauley, PhD
Lead Scientist
Sean has always had a deep interest in the sciences and knew early on that it would be his lifelong passion. The only remaining question was which scientific path he would choose. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and Biochemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2011, followed by a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2018, where he specialized in HIV virology. Sean is highly skilled in tissue culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, and RNA biology. At ADViRNA, he serves as the senior scientist overseeing all client and internal projects, acting as the primary contact for scientific discussions, experimental planning, and data analysis. Outside of work, Sean enjoys woodworking, building custom HiFi audio systems, and hiking with his wife, Hannah, and their dog, Indy.
